This week

Here are some more pics from Hong Kong. I like these ones a lot.

And we went to a kind of sketchy place to get pedicures. It ended up being about a 2 hour process. They pretty much massage your whole body.

And My mommy's Bday was this week. My dad and I went to a place called Top Cake and picked out a couple of cakes for my mom. This one was a fruit cake but it had cherry tomatoes on it! I guess tomatoes are technically a fruit but on cake?! China gets weirder and weirder as time passes I swear.

And we learned how to make spring rolls at our friend Jenny's!

And our neighborhood handymen came over!! They were soo cooperative. I asked them to smile and voila!!

So I had a really great week! I love my family, my friends in the U.S. and my few new friends here, I love Rachael McBride and my boyfriend Jc.

Zumba Mama

It was on Zumba teacher's birthday yesterday so here are some pics. No making fun. I know I look dumb. haha. My mom is not a very good photographer either. Who am I to judge her though.

Green Smoothies

So I started going totally green. I got really sick a few nights ago and my stomach was hurting soo bad and I think I might be lactose intolerant. But thats not what really matters. I really like being vegetarian and then my new friend Nicole was telling me about these green smoothies that she drinks. On Monday we met up at the pool and she brought me one. It was really weird but really good at the same time. I loved it! So then on Tuesday I made my own. We don't have a blender so I used our soy milk make which was totally fine. I blended Spinach, bananas, some other lettuce we had, and some ginger. It was good!! And I shared with my dad and Emma and they liked it too! And today I made another one with a collard green and dragon fruit, and lychee! mmmm! And my mom drank half of it! I think that I might try to get my whole family hooked too. And then I was looking at indoor gardening tips and I am most definitely having an indoor garden in the Fall! No doubt about it!
Here is a picture of the Lychee fruit. The kind that I ate was called the King's Concubine's Smile. Here's the story: So there was this King and I think he was one of the first kings, but he had a beautiful concubine (pretty much a high class prostitute) and she would never smile. He always gave her everythign she ever wanted. They were in the North part of China, but her home town was in Guan Jo province which is in South East China. She told the king that she wanted Liche (Lychee) and the king thought it was totally impossible to get Lychee to her because after the Lychee fruit is picked it only lasts for 2 to 3 days. But, he got his best horses to ride down to Guan Jo and bring back the fruit everyday. And when she go the fruit, she finally smiled and the whole kingdom was happy! And so am I!

We went to Luohu a few nights ago to get a formal dress made for my sister and I ended up getting a dress made too! We are going to pick them up in a couple days. But here are some pics from our adventure down there.
We took the Subway. There's my daddy!! He's clearly hard to miss.

This is the border crossing to Hong Kong. It's huge! Hong Kong isn't part of China. It is totally separate, they even have a different currency. I think it's weird.
This is the shopping center. It is HUGE! 5 stories and crowded! These young guys kept grabbing our arms and asking us if we wanted Purses, "You like Gucci? You like-a Fendi?" It was soo annoying and I called my brother to ask him how to say Go away and little did I know that I ended up saying F off you nasty person. Great!
Here is just the entrance to the Fabric Market. they have every kind of fabric, fur, lace, anything you could ever imagine.

And then they measure you all over the place. Her name is Nancy and she is measuring caroline.
Outside the shopping center when we left.
This is very common. They cook geese with their skin, heads, feet, everything. Its soooo gross. They never take any bones out or take the skin off. This is a prime example of why I am vegetarian.
On the Subway! It was surprsingly empty and pretty clean!
I see this a lot! There are tons of Chinese people that think their shirt says one thing but it actually makes no sense at all.
Babies in China don't wear diapers. Their clothes just have hole like this and when they need to go, their mom just holds them over a trash can or something. Gross? ABSOLUTELY!

Love a little

So I have been thinking a lot lately. That is good right? because I'm not even going to school. or doing any school work at all. Not even my honor code class. ha. And I talked to a really handsome man on Sunday and I realized how much I miss him. I want to be in Provo with him right now. I am soo jealous that Rachael gets to be there in a week. I wish I could surprise her for her bday! And then I was watching videos on my laptop and I found this. It was the weekend of Pierina's wedding, and the day after Jc and I started officially dating. It was one of the first times I told anyone how I felt about him! It makes me smile. And well the last half of the video I apologize for. I don't know how to cut videos. But it is kinda funny. Just a little.

The Worst Blogger

Yup I made a goal to blog everyday this year, and that didn't happen. Well China is awesome, I am trying to upload a video of my sister caroline and I getting lost in a city called Lao Jie. We didn't realize it was a holiday weekend so it was super busy and crowded and we got lost trying to find a restaurant and we got lost coming back, and trying to get home. I HAVE to learn chinese ASAP! Its imparative that I pick up at least a little while I am here.

I just finished watching the Proposal and I absolutely loved it! I really really thought that it was going to end differently and I hated the ending I saw coming, but it ended exactly the way I wanted it to. How much older is Sandra Bullock than Ryan Reynolds? It was funny too! I recommend it.
I hate our internet connection. 1. It’s slow 2. It turns off when I’m skype-ing with my bf 3. Everything is blocked unless I’m on my dad’s computer GRRRRRRRRRR!

Here on out, I am no longer wearing makeup or eating meat. I’m done done totally done. I haven’t been wearing makeup the past few day and I love it, and I haven’t eaten meat either and I almost love it more. Maybe I’ll stop wearing underwear too… jk. Well I read a huge article in Women’s Health about how healthy/exhilarating/sexy it is to go commando all the time. Just food for thought.
Speaking of food. I might miss China a little when I leave for this sole reason. The produce here is unbelievable! For breakfast I decided that I was going to have a fruit salad full of fruit that I have never had before. So I went to the Park-N-Shop (it’s like a grocery store) and bought all the fruit that I have never seen before. A lot of them I still don’t know what they are called. It was delish! For the most part. I really like Dragon fruit!! It’s like kiwi but white. Ohh and it is all pretty cheap. Like all of that fruit cost me about 70 RMB which is like 10 dollars. MmMmmmmm!
'Artistic' Picture for Jc ;)
